Reading Day Competition 2026 – A Celebration of Literary Excellence St. Therese English Medium School, Ayamkudy, is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of its students in the Reading Day Competition 2026, organised by the Kaduthuruthy Public Library as part of the Reading Day Celebrations, held on 4 July 2026. The event served as an excellent platform to foster a love for reading, encourage creative expression, and strengthen the literary and intellectual abilities of young learners. Our students distinguished themselves through their exceptional performances in various competitions. Agnes Shibu of Class VII B was awarded the Third Prize in the Reading Competition for her confident and expressive reading. In the Essay Writing Competition, Angelina Mariyam George of Class IX A secured the Third Prize in recognition of her outstanding writing skills, originality of thought, and effective expression. The school also recorded notable success in the Quiz Competition. Madhav K. Jayan of Class IX A won the Second Prize, demonstrating remarkable general knowledge, analytical thinking, and quick reasoning skills. Devalakshmi B. of Class IX B secured the Third Prize, reflecting her excellent preparation and commendable academic aptitude. These achievements are a source of immense pride for the school and stand as a testament to the students' dedication, the committed guidance of their teachers, and the constant encouragement of their parents. FIFA World Cup Jersey Day Celebration On 29th June 2026, St. Therese English Medium School, Ayamkudy, organized a vibrant and exciting FIFA World Cup Jersey Day to celebrate the spirit of football and teamwork among students. The entire school campus was transformed into a festive football arena, with colourful flex banners of different football teams displayed throughout the school, creating an energetic World Cup atmosphere. Students enthusiastically participated by wearing the jerseys of their favourite football teams and were grouped according to the teams they supported. Popular teams such as Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, France, and several others were represented, adding colour and excitement to the event. The celebration featured a variety of engaging activities and competitions, including a Team Cheer-Up Competition, Penalty Kick Competition, and other football-themed games. Students actively participated in these events, displaying remarkable sportsmanship, team spirit, and enthusiasm throughout the day. Safe fireworks added colour and excitement to the celebration, making the occasion even more memorable for everyone. The programme provided an excellent opportunity for students to develop unity, cooperation, and a healthy competitive spirit while enjoying the excitement of the world's most popular sport. The FIFA World Cup Jersey Day was a grand success, leaving students with unforgettable memories and strengthening the bond among team members.
Investiture Ceremony 2026–27 On 27 June 2026, St. Therese English Medium School, Ayamkudy, conducted its Investiture Ceremony 2026–27 with great enthusiasm and dignity. The programme marked the formal installation of the newly elected student leaders, who were entrusted with the responsibility of upholding the values and traditions of the school. The ceremony was graced by Mrs. Ann Maria George Panthiruparayil, Kottayam District Panchayath Member (Kaduthuruthy Division), who attended as the Chief Guest. The event commenced with a grand march past by the student leaders, followed by the oath-taking ceremony. The newly elected Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, Sports Captains, and Arts Club Secretaries proudly accepted their responsibilities and pledged to serve the school with dedication, sincerity, and leadership. The cultural segment of the programme added colour and vibrancy to the occasion. Students showcased their talents through a variety of performances, including a graceful semi-classical dance, an inspiring wellness dance, an individual solo song, and other captivating cultural programmes. The performances were well appreciated by the audience and reflected the creativity and confidence of the students. The ceremony concluded on a memorable note, inspiring the young leaders to carry out their duties with commitment and integrity. Reading Day Celebration As part of the Reading Day observance, St. Therese English Medium School, Ayamkudy, conducted various activities on 19 June 2026 to foster a love for reading among students and to commemorate the contributions of P. N. Panicker, the pioneer of the Library Movement in Kerala. A Reading Day Quiz Competition and a Book Review Competition were organised for students. The competitions provided an opportunity for participants to demonstrate their reading habits, literary understanding, and analytical skills. Students took part with great enthusiasm and displayed commendable interest in exploring books and sharing their insights. The programme reinforced the importance of reading in broadening knowledge, enhancing language skills, and nurturing creativity. The observance served as a meaningful reminder of the role of books in personal growth and lifelong learning.
